We are dedicated to finding a cure for epilepsy by raising funds for research and increasing public awareness about this often devastating and life-threatening disorder.
About Kaden
Kaden Bradley Smith, born May 11, 2001, was our precious, sweet, courageous son who passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2010 due to a fatal seizure. He was only nine years old. Kaden loved to play baseball, build with Legos, and play Wii and Nintendo DS with his friends and family. He really enjoyed life! Kaden was a compassionate, brave boy who often comforted his older sister, Kaylee, who also has epilepsy.
The Meaning of IM OK
IM OK stands for "In Memory of Kaden". We created this logo to always remember and honor our sweet Kaden. While this is special to our hearts, we've been told it also takes on another meaning for some people. IM OK says, "I have epilepsy and I'M OK!" It helps to remove the negative stigma that is so often attached to having seizures.

A seizure happens when a brief, strong surge of electrical activity affects part or all of the brain. One in 10 adults will have a seizure sometime during their life. About 30 percent of the 200,000 new cases every year begin in childhood, particularly in early childhood and around the time of adolescence. It is estimated that up to 50,000 deaths occur in the U.S. every year from seizures and seizure-related accidents.
